Katherine L. Irvine VetMB
Dr. Kate Irvine earned her VetMB at the University of Cambridge and after a few years in practice undertook a PhD in equine innate immunology. Combining her love for laboratories and veterinary medicine, she moved to the University of Bristol for an internship in Clinical Pathology, followed by a residency in Clinical Pathology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She moved back to the UK in 2017 to work at the Animal Health Trust as Senior Clinician in Clinical Pathology, later becoming Head of Clinical Pathology. Following closure of the Animal Health Trust in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, Kate moved to Dick White Referrals where she is currently working as a clinical pathologist. Kate has additionally worked as an independent clinical pathology contractor for several diagnostic labs since 2017 and in May 2020 joined Lacuna Diagnostics, continuing with them through their transition to Heska. Kate is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in Clinical Pathology.
