Dr. Gardner, a native Coloradoan, developed a love for horses by working with at-risk youth in an equine therapy program. She obtained her DVM from Colorado State University in 2011. After graduation, she completed an equine internship in New Jersey at the Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center. Then, completed both a surgical residency and emergency and critical care fellowship at The Ohio State University. After becoming ACVS and ACVECC boarded, she stayed on as faculty and is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in Equine Surgery and Emergency and Critical Care. Apart from clinical duties, Dr. Gardner is passionate about teaching in all four years for OSU’s DVM curriculum and contributing to curricular design. Dr. Gardner’s dog, cat, and husband keep her entertained at home and recently added a green off-the-track-Thoroughbred to the family.
